Bon Bini na Korsou Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Raven: > [... re: the recent fire near GZ ...] the area still being blocked off. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear they have begun construction.

The Riffort is a national monument, administered by Curacao's Monunent Foundation (what we locally call "Monumentenzorg"). The foundation is still fighting with the insurance company and the original restaurant where the fire broke out, hence unfortunately zero progress is being made towards the roof's restauration at this time. :( :( :(

While this cache has been around since 2008, I'm reluctantly archiving this one... until the political mess can be sorted out and the rif's roof can be restored in earnest.

@CacheShadow: thanks for all your patience all this time, hope to still be able to re-open this classic oldie once the dust has settled (since yes, funny enough the cache is still there, but inaccessible right now).

Geocache Description:

Bon Bini na Korsou

Welcome to Curacao! Or, as they say in Papiamentu: "Bon Bini na Korsou!"

This micro cache was originally conceived with cruise ship visitors in mind (see "Aerial view of Willemstad"), allowing them to record a quick smiley on this lovely Caribbean paradise... my home away from home. That said, any and all cachers are of course more than welcome to sign in: the more the merrier!

I do have a few simple requests, though: PLEASE be very mindful of muggles, write sufficiently small to allow space for future finders, and place the cache back EXACTLY as found to prevent it from being accidentally 'discovered'.

Additional Hints (Decrypt)

[SPOILER: Cache is a black magnetic key holder hidden inside the Rif Fort. Go to level 4 (an elevator is available, posted as an additional waypoint on this listing) and use the posted picture called "View of Punda just 3 meters from the cache" as a reference point. Cache is by the last step of a nearby staircase... please place it back EXACTLY as found!]
