A long time ago, someone had the idea to use the train for public transportation to Burlington and back. The main reason was to elliminate some of the traffic on Shelburne Road. Did it work? Probably not. Even with the soaring gas prices we all saw this year, there was no cry to bring the train back into play.
Maybe one day this place will be used again for what it was built and intended but for now the grass grows. Will we ever hear the sound again of the conductor screaming "all aboard"?
I don't know if it is plowed all year long but the location where the cache is placed will be there. There is a ramp for wheelchairs and plenty of parking.
There will come a day when someone cries again for the use of the train. Maybe then we will have use to bring the iron horse back in, but we will have to wait and see.
