Hemispheres Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ericles: This puzzle was one of my favorites but, with less than one find a year for the past 5 years it has obviously run out of potential solvers. Working the Corpus Collosum may be too painful for the new world of effortless lab cache finds and a pill bottle under every lamp post. Even knowing just what to do this puzzle strained the brain. [:D] I picked up the cache today and it was damp inside again. I really think Lock&Locks require sun to stay dry and, sheltered by one of the largest trees in the state, this one just couldn't get enough rays. That's no longer a problem and I'll concentrate my maintenance on caches that people want to try and find.

Official totals: 52 finds and 0 DNFs in just shy of 13 years.

Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. They're good for parking. Can you force both hemispheres of your brain to work together and read the coordinates?

The functions of the human brain are split into the analytical left & the artistic right. They are connected by a mass of nerves called corpus callosum. Both halves of the brain are essential to Geocaching but perform very different functions. For instance, the Left brain will follow the coordinates right off of the cliff while the Right brain will spot the large hollow log 40 foot away. The Right brain will admire all of the pretty green colors while the Left brain recognizes it as poison ivy. Right side: Judge the bear's expression. Left side: Count it's teeth. You get the idea. This puzzle will force your brain halves to reconcile their differences and work together. Is your Corpus Callosum up to the task?

Try to say the colors of the words as fast as you can. Your right hemisphere will be fighting to ignore the left which will insist on reading the word. This is called cognitive dissonance.

When you figure out what to do and where to go you'll enjoy a nice leisurely stroll through Tatum Park. The cache is about 100 foot from the trail and well protected from muggles in the warmer months. The hike is about a mile round trip depending on how you ramble. Hunting is permitted in the park and in the areas near GZ so wear your orange if are seeking the cache November through February. Enjoy the park & the puzzle!
