Old Bob's Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Royal Oak: As the owner has not responded to my previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it. It is not normal to unarchive a cache, which has been archived due to a lack of maintenance.

Unfortunately it has obviously been abandonned by its owner.

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Geocache Description:

Situated on 'Old Bob's lane', which is a bridleway and ancient highway between the villages of Slyne and Hest Bank with Bare in Morecambe. The bridleway starts on Hest Bank Lane and passes over the Lancaster canal, at bridge 116, it then passes beneath the NW mainline railway and then over the Morecambe to Lancaster railway before entering Bare by the golf club and Happy Mount Park.

The people in the village just refer to it as 'Old Bobs', who Bob was I don't know.

Easily accessible from the canal towpath, a nice walk can be made incorporating the other Hest Bank caches around the village. As Hest Bank picnic area, Hidden Hest Bank and Historic Hest Bank are close by.

There are good views of Morecambe and the bay from the nearby bridge.

If you here funny noises, turn round and say hello to the old fella!!

The cache is a 0.33litre screw top container, suitable for small swops and TB's only.

It contains a log book, pencil, slipper shoe pencil sharpener and a bag of swops.
If you want the pencil sharpener please leave another in it's place.
