Geocache Description:

A short walk down to what is believed to be the point of first ferry crossing on the mersey, before heading into woods. Cache is a small snap lock box in a camo bag.

First off this is my first cache so if i've made any mistakes please be gentle. I was going to go for a nice easy cache to start off but decided to make it slightly more challenging.

When I was a kid we always used to come down to the Eastham Woods every weekend, my dad would sit at the pub enjoying a pint whilst my mum and my brother would go for a walk in the woods, often used to head down to Jobs Ferry and play about on the rocks.

Jobs Ferry

The posted co-ordinates are for the site of the old Jetty

The large sandstone blocks below the cliff are the remains of Jobs Ferry jetty. A ferry service, carrying goods to Liverpool, is believed to have been sited here from as early as the 15th century. From here, flocks of waders and ducks can be seen in winter feeding on the mud and sandbanks at low tide.

Once at the co-ordinates look on the top step for a set of four numbers. The last three digits will be your ABC, then complete the sums below to get the co-ordinates for the cache which is a short walk into the woods.

N: 53°19.(A+C-1)(C-1)B
