Welcome to the former home of the Brockville Military Camp and the Royal Canadian Regiment.
Start your quest at the posted co-ords, this will take you to a info plaque on the corner of Ormond St. and Reynolds Dr. where you will find the info to calculate the cache location.
In November 1940, No.30 Military Training Camp opened its doors to 1200 men. This camp was intended to provide basic military training for recruits from all over Eastern Ontario.
In 1941, the camp was converted to an Officer Training Centre, also known as the “Brockville Military Academy”, which provided officer training for over a 1000 men.
In November 1945, the Military Academy became the home station of The Royal Canadian Regiment. This battalion sized infantry unit was part of Canada's Regular Force, and they considered Brockville their home until they were ordered to move to CFB Petawawa in June 1950. After this move, the military camp began to be dismantled.
At the posted co-ords you will find a plaque detailing the history of the Brockville Military Camp. At the top of the plaque is a logo with a four digit date. Take this date and add it to the following numbers to find the cache location.
