Another Trans Canada Cache
This is a tough cache to find even after getting all the clues. The clues require some hiking but can be done in one go, if you give yourself enough time (could be tricky in the winter months). But lets face it your doing a 5 and I don't want to disappoint.
Here are the clues: Please note that the numbers are to be added and subtracted from the end of the coordinates string of numbers in the first two calculations.
Final coordinates can be calculated by:
1 - Ad number of km on post #1 to North coordinates.
2 - Take away number of km on post #2 from West coordinates.
3 - Place the number of km posted on the bridge to replace the 3 question marks W123 ??.?34
Here is an EXAMPLE to make this calculating easier to understand:
Posted Coordinates:
N 49° 22.637
W 123° 14.834
To make the following math work you will need to think of the coordiantes as just a long string of numbers.
(N 49° 22.637 as a string of numbers will look like this 4922.637)
If post #1 24km then the answer number is 24 (example only)
If post #2 3km then the answer number is 3 (example only)
If the bridge has a marker of 18.7km then the answer number is 18.7 (example only)
Working the math:
N 49° 22.637 as a string of numbers will look like this 4922.637 so if you add 24 to this number you get 4922.661
W 123° 14.834 as a string of numbers will look like this 12314.834, so if you subtract 3 you will get 12314.831 now by replacing question marks with 18.7 (123??.?31) you will have a final number that looks like this: 12318.731
Now use this number in your GPS to get the location of the cache.
