Geocache Description:

BRING A WRITING INSTRUMENT – BEWARE OF MUGGLES IN THE SUMMER

The logging town of Bonfield is located about 15 Km East of North Bay. When the Canadian government decided to build a railway from eastern Canada to British Columbia in 1881, Bonfield became the eastern starting point. In 2002, Bonfield was inducted in the Canadian Railway Hall of Fame for being the location of the “First Spike” for the eastern portion of the Trans Canadian Railway.

The cache is located in the Bonfield Conservation Area where you can have a nice walk along the Kaibuskong River, see its rapids, picnic in the summer and see the townspeople practice their team sports

Enjoy this little “tidbit” of history..
