Geocache Description:

A traditional micro-cache located at Red Rocks Park. Container is a bison tube. Parking is available. Bring your own writing utensil. Park is open from 5:00am to 11:00pm

The mule deer was so named for their oversized ears, similar to those of the mule. Mule deer have dull grey fur and the bucks grow a new set of antlers annually, shedding them each winter. The females, or does, normally have single or twin births in late spring, and the spotted fawns, born without obvious odor that would give them away to predators, tend to stay well hidden in the underbrush. Mule deer are an important part of the food chain as the primary prey of mountain lions.
