Geocache Description:

The Twelve Days of Christmas - Geocaching Series

Five Golden Rings

On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, five golden rings, four calling birds, three french hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.

OR was it...

"The Twelve Days of Christmas" is an English Christmas carol (Roud # 68) which enumerates a series of increasingly grandiose gifts given on each of the twelve days of Christmas. It is a cumulative song, meaning that each verse is built on top of the previous verses. It has been one of the most popular and most-recorded Christmas songs in America and Europe throughout the past century.

The above coordinates are true! But you must solve the puzzle of the series to find the 12th Day of Christmas Cache!

The Puzzle

There are twelve caches hidden.  Each cache, except for the last (12th day) has a letter code inside the cache.  You will need to record the letter code in each of the first 11 days of Christmas to solve the puzzle that will lead you to the 12th day.  Below are the letters of the alphabet with a corresponding number.

To find the 12th cache, (the bonus) add only the numbers corresponding to the letters you have collected from the first 5 caches (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th day) and that number will represent the last three digits of your Northerly coordinates. (N 34 51.xxx). Use the numbers corresponding to the letters you collected from the last 6 caches (6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th day), all added together, to get the last three digits of your Westerly coordinates. (W 082 24.yyy).

You must find and sign the log of the first 11 days of Christmas before signing the 12th day of Christmas cache log.  It does not really matter which of the 11 you find first, but you must find the 12th day of Christmas last!
