Nickels in the Dark - A Night Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wizard of Ooze: Cache owner,

As you have not indicated that you have visited your cache location to replace it if it was missing, perform needed maintenance, or verify that it is still there within a reasonable amount of time, I am regretfully archiving the cache to clear it from the active cache database and open the area to new caching opportunities.

Please do not respond to this note by sending an email reply — your response will go to an unmonitored location and disappear into the ethernet instead of being sent to me. If you need to contact me regarding this cache, please do so using the link on my Profile Page

Thank you for your contribution to geocaching.

Geocache Description:

Smaller size camouflage plastic bottle container, about two feet off path. Has reflective markers so it can be found at night - you will not be able to find this cache in daylight!

*** When looking for the reflective markers, hold your flashlight beside your eyes - they will reflect brilliantly. Otherwise, they will be very hard to see (if at all) so muggles won't see them by accident when going for a walk at night, etc. These Night Eyes are brand new and we are testing them on some awesome night caches in the area. We've used several dozen flashlights to test and the best one to date is the mini maglite (the one that takes two AA batteries).***

When you get to the coordinates (start of a trail to public beach access), use your flashlight to find the 1cm markers at about eye level and follow them. They are Night Eyes, and can only be seen at night with a flashlight (they are black in the daytime, but reflect bright white at night). When you come to the first set of two, go to the trail on the left, and when you come to the second set of two, stay to your right on the path and look around 360 degress when you come to the "top of the rocks" to find the next one, and then continue. When you see your next set of two, the cache is very very very (very) near...

This camouflage cache contains nickels, all from 2000-present. I kindly require that you may only log this cache if you add at least one nickel from 2000-present. I will empty the cache after every 100 finds and add it to our SPCA donation fund. The cache has reflective markers on it that are 1cm in diameter - these will have to be visible to find it at night so *please* place is same position as found. Enjoy!

Please note that parking for this path is not allowed from 10pm to 6am. Parking is about ten feet from the coordinates.
