Geocache Description:

A nice walk in the woods to a hidden waterfall.

While researching the history of our house, Chandy found a mention of a waterfall not too far from us. We had no idea this waterfall was there! We researched it a bit further and went out looking for it.

The falls are known by 3 different names, according to wikipedia: (visit link) Braehead Falls, Tianna Falls, and Linn Spout (though there is a much more well known Linn Spout in Dalry).

After exploring a bit more today, we've found there are two different ways you can approach the falls. If you want *almost* a cache and dash or have small children with you, park at N55.44.221 W004 39.566. Go through the hedge and follow the path down to the falls. If you are feeling more adventurous or want a longer walk, park near N55 44.241 W004 39.883 and follow the farm track (and your GPS).

When you get down near the falls, you'll find a bridge across the Powgree Burn and the ruins of a Mill. This was Kersland Mill, it was used to process flax in the 19th century. It's a lovely wee spot. Please wear appropriate footwear as the path can be muddy and a bit rocky in places, especially down at the mill. If you take the long way in, you can make it a round trip by taking the path on the other side of the burn on the way out.
