Geocache Description:

This cache may be a 1.5 level of difficulty and terrain, but it is a solid 5 rating as far as weirdness. If you are a bubble or two off plumb or just like myths, legends, folklore and weird, then DO NOT pass up this cache. It will knock your socks off!

Cookingbugs05 and myself spent quite some time investigating the location of "Gravity Hill" in Benton county. After seeing the location in Weird Washington, I knew we had to place a cache there.

The book's authors wouldn't reveal the location other than within 10 miles of Prosser. After a foggy day of driving the 10
mile radius of Prosser, we decided to rely on the local resident population which didn't know, or wouldn't tell, or seemed hesitant or forgetful regarding it's location.

Not willing to give up, and armed with some minor details revealed in the Weird Washington book, I sat down with some Topo and terrain features and applied them to satellite images. After some map work, I was sure we would find the holy grail of weird.

Armed with these satellite photos, we headed out from Prosser in a Northerly direction. After 7 miles we realized that we were on the right track due to a eerie landmark that showed on the photo taken from space.

After hiding the large cache, and obtaining coordinates, we just had to try out this natural, or unnatural phenomenon called Gravity Hill.

After stopping our vehicles (facing South) Approx. 200' South of the cache, we shifted out of gear, and released the brakes.. You guessed it! We rolled uphill for several hundred yards before cresting the hill and rolling down the other side.

We poured water on the pavement, watched a plumb bob sway, and laid a level on the road. All these and the elevation function on the GPSer confirmed, we were on a hill.

After finding and logging the cache, simply pull your wheeled vehicle (pointing South) to the "START" line 46.21.810 119.43.427 painted on the pavement. Take it out of gear, and release the brakes.

Please do this cache during daylight hours, and please be aware that this is a public road, and there is other traffic on it.

Have Fun, and Cache Safe! Caliber & Cookingbugs05
