The Suzy-dog, meandering with her nose to the ground, was interested in the variety of scents in the area, but I was focused on the sounds. At first it sounded like just a generally noisey place, but then I began to isolate and identify the separate sounds that could be heard from this spot.
There was the hum of the high voltage lines above, and the sound of the stream below. The wind was rustling in the tree leaves and bamboo along the stream. A bird was calling and another was chirping. I could hear the distant sound of the traffic that can be seen from the cache site.
When you visit the cache there may be other sounds, such as the buzzing of insects or the howl of the coyote. Let me know what you hear!
