This multi-stop Walking Tour of Downtown Tallahassee is handicapped accessible, with the exception of stages 2 and 4 which are located in the middle of sets of stairs. If you contact me, I will gladly give you the answer to those.

Please use the crosswalks whenever they are available especially when crossing Monroe. Actual walking distance is just under one mile. If you plan to do it all in one day allow a minimum of 1 hour for this adventure, and note that Stage 4 can only be accessed from 9 am to 5 pm weekdays.

The cache is located at 30 AB.CDE and 84 FG.HIJ. You need to collect the numbers by visiting the other stages. IT DOES NOT MATTER what order you visit each stage.

Stage one, Wreaths of Remembrance, is near the posted coordinates. If you read all the plaques you will learn that this WWII memorial was “Erected pursuant to Florida Statue” in 1999. A= the first digit in the statute number.

Stage two, StormSong, is a frequently photographed fountain in front of the entrance to the Capital building. B= the number of dolphins in the South half of the sculpture.

Stage three, Observation Deck, is the 22nd floor of the capital building. There is no entrance fee or appointment needed. Expect to pass through a metal detector and for your bags to be inspected by security. It is open Monday – Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. There is a “New Capital Self Guided Tour” available if you ask at the information desk but you will not need it for the cache. From the vantage point on the 22nd floor, look to the SOUTH EAST and Cascades park: F= the number of big white domed amphitheaters you see. If you want to check your math, you can also look NORTH and F=the number of swimming pools you see.

Stage four, Time Capsule, is located on the steps leading up to the west entrance of the OLD Capital Building. Afterward, you may as well walk through the Old Capital Museum as there is no entrance fee and they are open 7 days a week. For hours see (visit link) There is, guess what, a time capsule buried beneath the steps. D= the last digit in the year it is to be opened on March 3rd.

Stage five, Vietnam Memorial, is across Monroe Street from the Old Capital. Please use the crosswalks. J= the second digit of the number Missing In Action.

Stage six, Union Bank, houses the Black Archives and Museum is open every day except Monday. For hours see (visit link) I= the last digit of the year the historical marker was erected, see the bottom right hand corner of the marker.

Stage seven, The Soldier, is a monument to WWII veterans in front of the Leon County Courthouse. E= the number of metals pinned on the veteran’s chest.

Stage eight, Wayne Square, is in front of the City of Tallahassee building. There is a plaque depicting “the old plan”. C= the third digit in the year it was established.

Stage nine, Newspaper, is located in Kleman plaza in front of the Mary Brogan Museum. H= the third digit of the year the group of news hounds was dedicated.

Stage ten, Moving On, is a group of bronze statues. G= the number of women, infants and children. Count carefully.

The FINAL stage!
After visiting all the other stages you will have all the information you need to find the final at 30 AB.CDE and 84 FG.HIJ. When you log your find, write in your log one thing you learned about the State of Florida, Leon County or the City of Tallahassee. I won't delete your find if you think you didn't learn, but something educational ought to have snuck in while you were walking around.

CONGRATULATIONS! Tallahassee-Lassie, TallyGirls, PWCinPC & Wuzudon33 and whoever else was in the group that was FTF!
