Geocache Description:

The cache is a camoed matchstick container.  It has a log only.  Bring your own writing implement.

This cache is located beside Kirksville Road (Hwy. 595), just off Lancaster Road (Hwy. 52) in Madison County.  Near this point Lancaster Road crosses over Elk Garden Branch.  Elk Garden Branch joins with Silver Creek about 2.25 miles from here.  Silver Creek empties into the Kentucky River near the western corner of Madison County.  Among the creeks that feed Silver Creek are Terrill Branch, Brushy Fork, Hays Fork, Harts Fork, Ballard Branch, Jones Branch, Elk Garden Branch, Taylor Fork, Brown Branch, Bogie Branch, Ham's Branch and Jackson Branch.  Together with many smaller unnamed rills and rivulets, these streams comprise the Silver Creek Watershed which covers much of southern Madison County.

Parking is available across the road from the cache.  Exercise care with children and pets when you cross the road.  Straight down the hill from the cache you can find an old bridge crossing Elk Garden Branch.
