Cache is a small black tube with log, no room for a pencil. Wheelchair accessible. Please return the cache to the exact place you found it.
The cache is placed at Mossley Mill.
Mossley Mill, a 19th Century flax mill complex, has been converted to create a new Civic Centre and Town Hall to replace council offices throughout the Newtownabbey area. The mill building has been refurbished to retain the existing vaulted brick ceilings and cast iron structure whilst providing new open plan offices and civic suite rooms. Externally, the mill pond, chimney and existing trees have been integrated into a new public parkland surrounding the mill.

The dam originally covered six acres and in the early nineteenth century a mill race drove a 20' water wheel.
Later a thousand feet long tunnel was constructed to turn a sixty feet metal wheel.
In the twentieth century the dam provided water for the boilers and the wet spinning process.
The new boardwalk provides access to a nature conservation area with swans and ducks.
The 158 feet high chimney has been retained as a landmark which can be seen from much of the Borough of Newtownabbey.
Don't forget to bring a bit of bread for the ducks and swans for as soon as they see you they are over like a shot and you'll feel mean if you can't give them anything!!
The Mill itself is open 9am til 5pm mon to fri and they lock the main gates at night, so no access after about 6pm.
There is a restaurant and coffee shop on level 3 in the main building.
Restaurant is only open between 9.30 and 11am, and 12 to 2pm but the coffee shop is open 9am to 4pm if you fancy a cuppa.
