A short hike and side trail will lead you to this easy cache.
I had heard that the WSGA was going to implement a program to
encourage cachers to pick up archived caches so that they didn't
become geo-litter. They are considering offering something like
"karma points".
So, while searching for a new cache in the area, I recognized my
surroundings. I poked a spot saying to myself "there use-to-be a
cache right here"..... and there was. It was only 50' from the
another cache so I suspected it to be archived. I searched my POI
list of all caches in the state and it didn't show up. Then I
called a friend who verified the hider was not active, so I removed
the cache as litter.
I had an idea to place the cache I had removed in another spot and
make a tribute to this cacher, which I did at this location.
I went home, e-mailed the cacher, who has yet to respond, and did
some more investigation. To my horror I found the cache was active
and the final to an old puzzle without listed final coords at
GC.
Well, I returned, did the hike in the rain and replaced the
original cache and this one with another.
Now I'm questioning this whole karma thing. No more mister nice
guy. No karma here. Pick up your own litter.
Have fun with my goof up and be careful out there.
If you find the cache hide it as well as you found it.
Have fun and as always beware of snooping eyes.
It is always a good idea to have a writing instrument with
you.
Finally, please let me know if there are problems with either
the
cache or its coordinates.
