Comoara lor Surorile C-Treasure of the C Sisters Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

izyspring: This was a great cache, however the final has been compromised and the logs where I had the final hidden have decayed to the point that I feel this one has run it's course. It was a classic puzzle/multi-cache utilizing a hedge that looked like the Loch Ness Monster, a "rockpile" that was actually a sculpture and then a well hidden final.

If you found this cache over the years, thank you for playing along. I'm sad to see this one go. But I haven't been active in caching for ages so I'll let it go.

I do have one active cache remaining, Comoara lui Luci. It's a devil of a find and while there are a few "finds" on that cache, very few have ever found it without hints or lifelines from friends that found it before them.

Cache on!

Geocache Description:

The C sisters, Rodi, Sanda and Simona are three more of my Romanian
friends. This cache is in honor of them. They are older girls and
Rodi has moved out of the children's home and is living on her own.
Sanda goes to a music school and Simona can be just plain funny!
They love to do puzzles; hence there might be a little puzzle to
part of this cache. They like adventures too; so hopefully you will
like this one!

"Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking." --Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower

This cache has a little of everything. At the first stage I think of Sleuthers; the second stage makes me think of Lord Mike and at the final I think of some devious cachers out there, hmmm...Fork L Man, Craftsman, Mondo.

Difficulty and terrain reflects the amount of thinking and walking for this cache. If you park the car at the first waypoint plan on a little over two mile round trip trek. You can shortcut back to the car or hit some other caches in the area! However, all of it is on walking paths until you get a few hundred feet from the final. And if you so choose, you can, (sigh), drive between the waypoints. Take your time, check your math and most of all have some good fun! If clues are needed they will come after FTF.

Stage 1 - The beginning coordinates take you to the first stage. When you get to the corresponding coordinates you will see a sign that tells you not to park there. So this isn’t a good place to park but it is a good place to stand. Now, take your compass, (egads! did he say compass?), or your digital compass on your GPS. Take a bearing of 21 degrees from the No Parking sign. (I used magnetic north but it shouldn’t make a big difference) Look out across the open space/soccer fields. Do you see the creature in the distance at a 21 degree bearing? (You don’t need binoculars and you should see it unless there is a blizzard or pouring rain). Name the creature that you see. I’m looking for three words.

1. Count the letters in the first word and then subtract 3; call this A.
2. Count the letters in the third word and call that B.
3. The second letter in the second word is what letter in the alphabet if the letter “a” is 1, “b” is 2, etc. Call that number C.
4. Look up in the sky. How many elephants do you see? (It better be zero; if it is other than zero please put away the pipe and come back another day). Call this number D.
5. Add the number of letters of all three words together and subtract nine. Call this number E.
6. Count the letters in the second word add three and call this F.

Correlate all numbers to the following coordinates.

N 39 55.ABC
W 105 04.DEF

Now go to the second stage which is a Rock Pile, hee hee.

Stage 2 – Welcome to the Rock Pile and congratulations on a job well done back at Stage 1. If you walked here pat yourself on the back. If you drove, I assume you have a good reason.

Look at the Rock Pile. It should be pretty clear. Do the following to get the coordinates to the final. Some steps are easy, some are tricky.

1. Add all the rocks together in the pile plus the base and let this be “U”. (Don’t count any rocks within a rock)
2. If the top most rock were a number what would it be? Let this be “V”.
3. Look for the name of the artist on the Rock Pile. Directly to the right are two shapes. Name the shapes. How many letters are in the word of the shapes? (One word, plural) Now divide by two and let this number represent “W”.
4. The second rock from the bottom has rope coiled around it. Count the rope and let this be “X”.
5. There is a band of rocks circling the bottom most rock. Add up all the rocks and double check your count. I hope you come up with a two digit number. Add the two digits together and subtract nine, now let this represent “Y”.
6. On the third rock from the top there is a rock within the rock. How many sides make up the shape that holds the rock within the rock? Let this number be “Z”.

Correlate all numbers to the following coordinates.

N 39 55.UVW
W 105 04.XYZ

CHECKSUM FOR U,V,W,X,Y AND Z IS 15 FOR STAGE 2

That’s it! Now you are ready to go on to the final. You are looking for a micro container. You may need an extraction device to get to the log. Have fun and happy hunting.
