10 December 2016:
The name of this cache has been changed to reflect the name shown on a Cross of Remembrance that was placed on this bridge for 11 November 2016.
Private Andrew Nisbet McGrow, was with the Argyll Sutherland Highlanders.
He was killed on 2 November 1940 on Cliffe Bridge, Lewes, when his lorry hit an anti-tank obstacle in the blackout. He is buried in Glasgow (Riddrie Park) Cemetry (Sec. F. G)
Cliffe Bridge is nearby to where I lived during my childhood, and where my parents still live. (No! Nearby, not under the bridge!)
This cache is a magnetic 35mm film pot (yes, yes, I know! Another one! Sorry!) located nearly at ground level.
This area can get very busy during the day so you might prefer to look for it after the shops have shut and everyone has gone home.
If not, it's in the usual kind of place so it shouldn't be too difficult to find. (Apparently it is, so I have upgraded it to 2.00 and changed the Additional Hint. Good luck.)
I placed this cache one evening when I was out caching with Dr_Rolf. Although it's his cache pot and logbook he hasn't got round to logging his name yet so it's my name on the cache.
