Geocache Description:

The Halfway Seat Cache

This cache is at a resting place about halfway on the Te Henui Walkway that runs from Cumberland Street to the East End reserve. Take a seat and look for the native birds that are in this area. There are wood pigeons, tuis, fantails and waxeyes.

This cache has been relocated and placed in the “Pukatea Dell” a small area of native bush next to the Te Henui walkway.
The area belongs to the New Plymouth City Council and there is no entrance fee. The admission fee sign posted on the fence apply only to the private garden "Te Kainga Marire" up the right track.

The rustic gateway leads to the Pukatea Dell which is down the track on the left and to a private New Zealand Native Garden “Te Kainga Marire” up the right track. The owners of Te Kainga Marire gardens know the cache has been placed there.
No bush bashing is needed as it is placed a short way down the track on the left (1 meter off the track).

The seat in the title can be found just outside the gate at 39.06023 S, !74.09583 E.

While there you can wander around the Pukatea Dell where you can see two large pukatea, king ferns and other native flora.

The cache is a small container suitable only small items. Please shut the gate after entering and when leaving.
