Geocache Description:

This is a well camoed urban micro cache housed in a 35mm plastic film can. Please bring your own pen to sign the log!

Before there were fast food restaurants on every corner there were SnoWhite Drive Ins. SnoWhite was founded in the ‘50’s by Henry Nelson and grew to almost 200 franchises in California by the 1960’s and ranged from Bakersfield to Chico. In Gilroy there was a one of these on First Street across from Brownell School . It served as the turn around point on the west side for the teenagers dragging Main on Friday and Saturday nights during the ‘60’s. Sadly it is long gone. Today only a handful of examples of this 50’s restaurant remain. Morgan Hill has one of them. Take a stroll with me back in time and enjoy this small bit of Americana.

UPDATE 2-4-10 Sno White has closed and this site is now a Mexican restaurant. Very sad as this bit of Americana fades into history. Cache is still in play.
