Two Hundred SeventyThird in the Famous People (FP) Series - Lionel Richie
Lionel Brockman Richie, Jr.
was born June 20, 1949 in Tuskegee, Alabama. Throughout his remarkable career, he has sold over 100 million records and his music today is still some of most recognizable in the world. He is the adopted father of Nicole Richie.

In 1968 he became the lead singer and saxophonist with the Commodores and produced such hits as "Brick House" and "Three Times a Lady". By the late 1970s he had begun to accept songwriting commissions from other artists such as "Lady" for Kenny Rogers.

In 1981, Richie sang a duet with Diana Ross in the theme song for the film Endless Love. Issued as a single, the song topped the UK and U.S. pop music charts, and it became one of Motown's biggest hits. Its success encouraged Richie to branch out into a full-fledged solo career in 1982.

His debut album, Lionel Richie, produced another chart-topping single, "Truly" and sold over 4 million copies. His 1983 follow up album, Can't Slow Down, sold over twice as many copies and won two Grammy Awards including Album Of The Year.

Several more Top 10 hits followed, the most successful of which was the 1984 ballad "Hello".

But for the sake of this cache, the popular song "Stuck On You" from his 2002 Island album "Encore" tops the charts. To comnplete this cache, your adventure will take you to several locations where you will undertake certain tasks in order to reach the final magnetic key holder that contains the log sheet. Of course the main focus of the adventure is to complete the Phone-A-Friend call to the cache owner for clues and final coordinates.
