Geocache Description:

The Builders Cache

[   by LinuxOnTheBrain  ]

This 'supply cache' is for all the geocache builders out there!

  • What is the Builders Cache?
    • It's a trading post for cache building materials. It started out a few months ago to distribute some magnets to local cache builders and now I've upgraded the container to accomodate all sorts of stuff.
    • It's a stage to show off your handy-work.
    • It's a place to get new ideas and parts.
    • It's a way to get your overstock materials into hands that can use them.
  • What will I find in the cache and what should I leave?
    • Useful items:
      • tape (camo/black/brown/green)
      • watertight containers
      • unique containers
      • steel, pvc or other pipe, preferably with caps
      • camo netting
      • magnets
      • wire
      • pens/pencils
      • log sheets
      • finished caches or works-in-progress
      • pictures/sketches of unique cache designs
      • anything you've seen or have used yourself in geocache building
    • Not-so-useful items:
      • bits of string
      • grocery lists
      • pocket lint
      • receipts
      • I.O.U.s
Take only what you can use, leave something for the next builder and stop back from time to time! Remember that no matter what you leave you can be sure it will be turned into a fun geocache somewhere!

The starting contents are: about 30 neodymium magnets (wrapped in new tube socks for safety), a small/medium unfinished lock-n-lock, about 50 plastic baggies in 3 sizes, some darkwoods camo tape, 1 finished & 1 unfinished waterproof match container, 2 rolled lengths of flexible wire, some log books & pencils. And a tiny grunting gorilla for the re-release FTF.

The cache is a large size container, roughly a double-wide ammo can, about 10 yards into the tree line. No major bushwhacking required. It's located near the bike trail which is often busy so use stealth! A log and pencil are also included.

Please be sure to carefully restore the geo-cover as found.

Enjoy!
