Old Cedar trail - Cedar Mama Mystery Cache
Old Cedar trail - Cedar Mama

This is one massive ceder stump on the seldom used "Old Ceder Trail". Infact it isn't on many maps either. Check out http://tinyurl.com/d9z7au for a PDF map with this trail on it (it's near the bottom).
We trudged down this trail after finding the entrance location from a local mountain biker who don't think it's worth riding.
The trail is marked on several maps but there is never a name to go with it. We spent some time marching along this trail in December 2008 and after placing the cache we kept going and found a massive old growth tree near the far end. We had passing through 3 revenues and many km of trail by then though. By this time 2.5 hours had elapsed and we where running out of light fast.
We then trudged downhill to Lynn Creek. What! no bridge, bummer. So we found a place to jump from rock-to-rock. Please be aware that we are using high end hiking boots with gaiters and 2 trekking poles each for balance. So if you're in runners and don't have the poles for balance you will be wet up to your knees. If you arrive at the water in runoff season you will not be able to ford the river at all.
Please make sure you give yourself ample time to make it back to civilization just in case this occurs.
After crossing the river it was back down the main Lynn Creek trail, over the bridge and through the parking lot. About 100 meters past the parking lot is the trail-head for the Baden Powell trail which will take you back to Mountain Highway road in about 30 minutes.
Have a great hike, we did.
Puzzle #1 (For this coordinate correction: N 49° 22.338)
Today, John has to transfer 50 euro to the bank account of a Dutch friend.
He has written down the account number on a piece paper. But since he had forgotten to take out the paper from his trousers when he put them in the washing machine, one digit of the bank account number became unreadable.
The note says: 3170?4847. The friend of John is on a Kilrag geocache hunt at the moment, so it is impossible for John to call his friend.
Suddenly he remembers that for a valid Dutch bank account number it holds that the first digit times 9 + the second digit times 8 + the third digit times 7 + ...... + the nineth digit times 1 should be divisible by 11.
John thinks for a moment and finds the correct number.
What is it?
Ok now that you have the answer you will need to do this.
For the correct last 2 numbers in the coordinates 49 22.3??
Multiply the answer by 10 (10 x ? = ??)
Now subtract the answer from the last two numbers on the coordinates to get a new final coordinate.
Puzzle #2 (For this coordinate correction: W 123° 02.445)
Mirror Mirror On The Wall
Matthew leaves home in the morning to go to school. At the moment he leaves the house he looks at the clock in the mirror. The clock has no number indication and for this reason the boy makes a mistake in interpreting the time (mirror-image).
Just assuming the clock must be out of order, Matthew cycles to school, where he arrives after twenty minutes. At that moment the clock at school shows a time that is two and a half hours later than the time that Matthew saw on the clock at home.
At what time did he reach school?
Divide the hour by the minutes in the answer.
Now add that answer to the second coordinate's last 2 numbers to get the final coordinate.
W 123° 02.4??
445 + ?? to get the answer
Good luck with these puzzles.
