Explore coastal Garrapata State Park with this series of caches appropriate for cachers of all ages and abilities. Parking and trail access is via nineteen numbered turnouts along Highway 1. All are on the ocean side of the highway.
After taking a counter-clockwise hike along the blufftop loop trail, I was all too happy to have a seat here. Although the trail was not strenuous, it edged the bluff a little too closely for my comfort. The sight of the rocky cliffs dropping into the sea is something that I would rather view from afar.
The bench provided just that extra measure of safety from which to view the rocky coastline to the north and the golden sands of Garrapata Beach to the south. Plus, for those who are so inclined, a benchmark is located within a stone's throw away.
The container is a 35mm film container. Please bring your own pen to sign the log.
