Geocache Description:

The 5th World Wide Flash Mob.

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009
Starting at exactly 12 noon
and lasting only 15 minutes !

This event has a THEME! The Air Capitol Fly-In will be about aviation. So dust off your kite, RC model, silk scarf and goggles, signs, hats and so on. We are working on some REAL COOL prizes, some of which may go to the best-in-theme! Since this is a work in progress, you might want to add this geocaching event to your watch listing. This cache page will be updated as we finalize plans. Check back often.

A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse. This is a part of the fifth World Wide Flash Mob (WWFM V) occurring simultaneously around the globe and organized by iTrax and Foxtail. We are hosting this geocaching event to bring together geocachers and to introduce new people to the hobby (muggles). More explanation at this link .

You MUST be present and sign a log sheet DURING this event to claim credit on geocaching.com.

Meet AT the posted coordinates at about 11:55 AM.

At the start time we will “FLY” over to the logging area for our group photo and the other scheduled micro events. To “FLY” over, simply raise your arms up to shoulder height and make zooming aircraft sounds. Yea, sort of like when you were a kid! (Be careful that you do not poke out some ones eye.) Our group photo will be taken as we “FLY” in.

Schedule of micro events:
  • Fill out log sheets.
  • Trade swag from the bucket if you want.
  • Receive event "meal" (Hershey Kisses).
  • Prize hand out.
  • CITO the area.

If any muggles are curious about the event we will have volunteers handing out fliers that explain geocaching. Tell your friends and help promote the event. Bring them along, they do not have to be geocachers to enjoy the Flash Mob.

At precisely 12:15 PM, disperse! The event will officially be over. Quickly leave the area without a trace. This is how a Flash Mob is suppose to work.

The post-event event will be at Fosters. No, we can not publish two one-time event caches on the same day. The rules do not allow it. Fosters is on Broadway, about 1 block South of Douglas on the West side of the street. Corrected: N37 41.057 W97 20.143 Thanks Cantuland.
