If you haven't been to Muzi Pans
before, try to get here in late afternoon for a sundowner. The
wetland is prolific in water birds, and sunsets over the lake are
beautiful.
If you take the kiddies - take care along too - there ARE crocs
& hippos.
Turn off the tar D820 at S27 39.238 E032 24.654, and a
high-clearance vehicle will take you right to the cache. If worried
about the terrain, leave your vehicle here - it is a gentle 750
metre stroll through pretty wetland forest.
If you have time on your trip back to
Hluhluwe, turn off on the gravel P466-1 at S27 40.006 E032 25.090 -
it takes you (for free) through the exclusive Phinda Game Reserve.
At the boom gate, tell the guard that you are "travelling through".
It is apparently a public road, and takes you to the N2 near
Hluhluwe.
