In Greenhithe, on the Ingress Abbey estate. A magnetic nano.
The 'Worcester' was moored off this foreshore from 1871-1978. The Thames Nautical training College was established in 1862 to train cadets for service as officers in the Merchant Navy. From 1938-1954 the clipper ship 'Cutty Sark' was also moored here for cadet training before being moved to Greenwich as a national monument. Ingress Abbey and its grounds formed part of the college facilities. In war and peace old Worcesters served their countries with courage and distinction in the maritime industry and the armed forces.
