The Landford Poacher
Lydlinch Glovers set up this cache after enjoying a chance visit to The Landford Poacher for lunch. They enjoyed the atmosphere and staff so much that whenever caching anywhere nearby, they would divert to the Poachers for lunch. Even Wilma the Westie GeoDog was invited inside when it was raining. Due to the friendliness of the staff and the good quality 'pub grub' they decided to place a cache nearby to entice fellow cachers to try it. Since then, the ownership and management has changed several times, and a brief visit to the Trip Advisor website will show a wide disparity in the experiences of clients. However, the current owners appear to be building a good deal of footfall, particularly for their Sunday lunch carvery, so do post your food reviews. (Obviously on Trip Advisor!)
This cache is ideally sited for those en route, and a family friendly pub/restaurant next to it is an obvious attraction. We had an excellent family lunch there for a party of 12 in December 2017.
Polite Request. Please wrap the log sheet up in the zip-lock bag carefully, and replace it so the next shower doesn’t make it soggy. Thanks!
