Warren Lake Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hoosier_Reviewer: Attention cache owner,

It has been brought to my attention that the Charles C. Deam Wilderness area now prohibits geocaching.

The land managers have requested that we archive all active caches and prohibit all new caches. If you feel that there is an error and your cache isn't on their property, please email me at Hoosierreviewer@gmail.com

Thanks,

Hoosier Reviewer

Geocache Description:

This ammo can cache containing some nice trade items is in the Hoosier National Forest. It is 2 miles from the listed parking area as the crow flies. Most of the hike is on old road bed, the last third is bushwack.

I placed this cache at a scenic little pond named the Warren Lake. It is not a cache for folks who like a park and grab. It is for those who like a nice long hike through scenic forest. I hope placing this cache here will bring some people back to enjoy this charming area seen by so few people.

On your way to the cache you will pass a small cementary with hand carved stones from the 1800s. These tokens of the good old days are something to see. Two photos are attached to this listing for you to see.

At the listed parking you will see a very tall fire tower that was once part of the fire watch system for this area.

I am thrilled that someone walked all that way. No one can call you a path pounder! Big congrats to Indylovelace on the FTF on this cache!
