Geocache Description:

This cache is to replace our last Juke Box Cache which unfortunately got too wet. We have transferred all the salvageable contents from the last cache and placed them in this one

The Cache is a Jukebox (Cd swaps) Cache-n-Dash located near the village of Honiley (apparently not the one Puff the Magic Dragon was from because he lived by the sea).

Near the Cache location is a layby from which you can see over the fence into the Prodrive racetrack, where you can spy many sports cars some yet to have been fully developed.

Prodrives website says the following about the track

The 250 acre proving ground includes a range of high and low speed circuits with surfaces varying from smooth to broken tarmac to simulate all types of roads. There is also an adverse handling circuit; a mile-long, 100ft wide multi-surface straight; calibrated split µ surfaces and an extreme off-road circuit. The facilities are for the exclusive use of Prodrive’s customers however businesses in the motor industry can book different parts of the proving ground on an exclusive and non-exclusive basis.

Split µ The 150 metre long split u surfaces are ideal for testing traction control, ABS and vehicle dynamics systems. The surfaces include basalt tiles at 0.2µ, bridport pebble at 0.5µ and high µ concrete and tarmac.

High speed circuit The 1.5 mile high speed circuit has been designed by Prodrive to test vehicle handling on a range of high speed bends and lower speed chicanes and tight corners. This circuit has been designed with very large run off areas to ensure the safety of testing staff and to ensure that vehicles can be tested to their dynamic limits in complete safety.

Mile long straight The 100 ft wide mile long straight is ideal for very high speed testing. It can be used for lane change simulations, repetitive brake performance and fade, and aerodynamic assessments.

Adverse handling circuit This complex of nearly 1.5 miles of narrow twisting tarmac circuits has been designed to assess the lower speed handling characteristics of a vehicle. Sharp changes in direction can highlight excessive over or under steer.

Off-road circuit The off road circuit is over a mile of steep ascents and descents and deep water-filled gullies. In has been designed to test the limitations of off-road all wheel drives and technologies such as hill descent systems and cross locking differentials. Prodrive is able to construct specific obstacles to test or demonstrate specific attributes.

Please bring an unwanted CD to swap. The best time to see cars going around the track is a Saturday afternoon.
