Soldiers pinch
CAUTION:- Stay on the bush side of the chain link fence. There are several cliffs and steep drops near this cache location-:CAUTION (both my 5 and 7 year olds walked up here without any problems).
Soldiers Pinch -Located between Mount Boyce and Browntown Oval in Mount Victoria.
Construction of the $24 million Soldiers Pinch deviation at Mount Victoria. Reconstruction over two kilometres involves straightening the alignment between the Mt Boyce Weigh Station and Browntown Oval. The project provides a much improved alignment, as well as an eastbound climbing lane.

G Whalan's Trip over the mountains in 1842 talked of how the place got it's name "Soldiers Pinch which owes it's name to the folly of a soldier who being called on to block the wheel unwittingly placed his foot instead of a stone which of course was crushed to atoms"
Mentioned by Louise Meredith on her trip to Bathurst in 1839, this event must have happened some years before her trip. The Sands Country Directory in 1867 includes those living in Soldiers Pinch, The area was set aside for a reserve for a public purposes on 29th April 1878. The story of the Soldiers foot being crushed may be a wives tale as "Pinch" is a geographical tern describing a narrow passage.
There are several ways to reach GZ
Park at the given Waypoint and you will find where the ridge line ends, climb up here and as you head up the hill you will see a chain link fence. Keep to the right of this fence (bush side).
Yes the log book does say The Missing Link 2.
