This cache was originally named Welcome to Wyong.
The cache has been renamed due to Gosford City Council and Wyong Shire Council merging and being named Central Coast Council.
There was a sign across the road that was a Wyong Council welcome sign but now all that is left is a concrete footing.
==== Original Description ====
Wyong Shire covers an area of about 820 square kilometres. The shire extends from near Gwandalan in the north, to Ourimbah in the south and from the Pacific Ocean to the hills beyond the Yarramalong Valley.
Wyong is just over an hour's drive from Sydney, and is a good base for starting your visit to Tuggerah Lake and the beautiful Yarramalong Valley. Lake Munmorah, Budgewoi and Tuggerah Lakes are the dominant water-based features of the area.
The area boasts some of Australia's most rugged and scenic national parkland and recreation areas forming an impressive backdrop for the sweeping rural areas and coastal plains.
There is ample parking on the opposite side of the road, with traffic lights with a pedestrian crossing for safe access. This is not a drive by cache as there is a “No Stopping” area and as we were placing the cache the police were patrolling the area.
