Pleasant area for exploring in the scenic Rio Grande River bosque ( riparian forest ). Altitude of 4975ft.
This cache is located in the cool and pleasant bosque near the famed Rio Grande River in the heart of Albuquerque NM.
There is a convenient parking area for 1 or 2 vehicles about a 1/2 mile north of Central Ave on the East side of Atrisco Blvd SW. The parking is next to a pump building and irrigation ditch. You should park here. There is no street parking allowed on Atrisco Blvd SW. Park here and cross over the ditch on the small concrete footbridge.
Enjoy the cottonwood forest. A fire burned in here not too long ago, but a lot of good old trees remain.
You are seeking a medium size container. Be sure to replace all camo materials after you locate the cache, sign the log and add or remove items.
There is an interesting and authentic Mexican Supermarket just to the west of here if you get hungry or thirsty. It is quite an experience ! It is located on the northwest corner of Central Ave and Atrisco Blvd.
WATCH OUT FOR SNAKES ! THIS IS PRIME SNAKE HABITAT !!
