PAMAP! There's a Legend on your Map!
I am doing my own version of the 12 Days of Caching. I am listing one cache each day for the next 12 days. Each cache is dedicated to one of my Geocaching friends and is placed close to where they live.
This one is dedicated to PAMAP. PAMAP is a Charter Member of Geocaching.com and has been geocaching since 2002. This has given him time to rack up an impressive cache score of over 2700 cache finds. In fact, he is the only cacher on my friends list who has been caching for so long that he has actually planted virtual caches, which everyone knows is no longer allowed on geocaching.com.
PAMAP is a retired cartographer so this leaves a lot more time for his geocaching. Although his current goal is to find a cache in each of the 67 counties in PA, he is also quite the FTF hound and has beaten me to the punch on several occasions.
PAMAP has been known to cache with Recumbrick, Airnut, Columbo and Geoscouter. I've bumped into him on the caching trail and have also had the opportunity to go caching with him once. Word to the wise... if you go caching with these guys, they like to find the caches themselves so don't be too quick to point them out.
I chose this location for his geocache because it is close to where PAMAP lives. If he wants bonus points he can try to find it without his GPS unit.
PAMAP is a long-time cacher who has earned a spot on my 12 days of caching list. I salute this geocaching Legend.
