The Lincoln St. Fire Station has been closed for many years now, however, this station used to serve an important role in protecting downtown Lewiston. The firefighters that served at this station were often the first responders to many downtown fires and emergencies. When trains still ran through the city, this station played a crucial roll in downtown fire fighting. Passing trains would often hinder fire trucks, coming from other stations, from reaching the area of the city south of Canal St.
