ALR - A Memorial To Our Veterans Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

lpyankeefan: Out and about on a Cache Across Maryland 2011 run with Mrs. LPYankeeFan and both of The_Incredibles and decided to stop by and check on this cache. While all is well with it gas prices once again being what they are I find that prudence dictates that I archive this cache. Freeing the spot up for someone else if they care to have it (Hint Hint!) [:P]

Anyways, found the cache in good shape, retreived the container and headed back towards the van and caches as yet unfound. As to this cache, in the words of Sting "Consider me gone, gone, gone........." Thanks to those who have searched for this cache over the years, alas it is no more!

Geocache Description:

Similar to many memorials that spring up in small towns after military conflicts, this marker now has a geocache for you to find, but this one has a twist.

To claim this cache:

1.) Find the cache.
2.) Sign the log.

While not necessary to claim a "find" on this cache those who wish to may choose to do the following ALR actions.

3.) Post a photo of you with your GPSr in hand and the memorial in the background.
4.) Answer the following questions via e-mail. Please don't post your answers in the logs so that others who choose to may also enjoy the search!

1. What individual is mentioned on the memorial marker?
2. What was he awarded?
3. When was he killed?

While this is noted as being an “Additional Logging Request" (ALR) Geocache, that moniker is only for those who choose voluntarily to take on further tasks. The only true requirements are the first two. Treat it like a virtual or an ALR, but it’s got a container and a log to sign too. Have fun!

Many thanks to The Perryzip Crew for ideas and inspiration.

FTF honors go to LisaandDarin!!! Congratulations!!!
