The Baldwin Girls wanted to toss together a salad featuring some of the lettuces and greens grown in and around Salinas. Because 80% of America's lettuce is grown in the Salinas Valley, the town has been given the nickname, America's Salad Bowl. So, together they went to the store and purchased the following:
NORTH
3 leaves of Red Oak Leaf
4 leaves of Green Chard
3 leaves of Radicchio
1 bunch of Chervil
2 leaves of Lollo Rossa
2 bunches of Mustard Greens
3 leaves of Arugula
CHECKSUM FOR NORTH = 32
WEST
3 bunches of Dandelion Greens
3 leaves of Green Oak Leaf
2 leaves of Frisee
3 leaves of Mache
2 leaves of Red Belgian Endive
3 leaves of Sorrel
3 leaves of Escarole
1 leaf of Red Chard
CHECKSUM FOR WEST = 14
They washed the greens and added them to a large salad bowl in the EXACT, SAME ORDER. Then they added dressing and sampled the best of the Valley!
The cache is located along a road that will take you into the heart of "Lettuce Country." The container is a camouflaged 35mm canister. Please bring a pen to sign the log.
