Geocache Description:

Nice View from the top of Powder Mill Park 517 Ft. above sea level. Easiest way up is via the Blue Trail behind Wadhams Lodge.( Alternate trail goes up by the park office)

Back in the dark ages when I was a kid, we use to play on the sand hill above the water wheel. There was an old man living at the top of the hill in a small house. We would play ding dong ditch-it until the parents found out... Then we had to knock on the door and apologize for causing him trouble. As a punishment we got to deliver his groceries for 6 mos. He was a wonderful soul. When he passed away the Fire department had an controlled burn and reduced the house to nothing. All that remains now are the front steps.

Just past the steps at the top of the sand hill is a lovely overlook that is breathtaking in the Fall. Make sure you check out the view.

PLEASE USE THE TRAIL THAT GOES AROUND THE BACK SIDE... The hill is unstable, steep and climbing the steep part contributes to erosion.
