Geocache Description:

Should be a quick and easy find - however, be sure to bring your own writing tool.

An original Pony Express Station is located in this park. This station was originally built in 1854 and has also been used as a trading post and a ranch house. Later is was moved to this location so that the memory of those glorious days of the Pony Express could be preserved.

Take a few moments to relax and ponder what it must have been like to be a Pony Express rider. A station like this would be where the rider would stop to get a fresh horse, throw the mochilla (mail bag) onto the fresh horse and take off for the next station, daring the Indians and storms to stop him.
