Flash!

8:30am – 10am Breakfast at Big Boy
Restaurant, corner of E. Jefferson at E. Grand Blvd across from
Belle Isle.

10:10am First to Find winners leave for Belle Isle.

10:30am - 2pm: All cachers meet at the shelter near Aquarium to
receive lists of all new caches. We are also working on loc files
of the caches that will be on our laptops and jump drives. So bring
your cables for downloads. Jump drives will be available so that
you can load the files into your laptops. Picnic/meeting area
coordinates are: 42*20.225 082*59.175

2pm-4pm Hot dogs available at shelter bring your drinks and
munchies. Feel free to bring passing dishes, to add to the picnic
goodies. This will be a drop in picnic, so cache as you want and if
you need a bite stop by for some food and chat.

Be sure to bring your boots! Though you can get away without them
remember that the snow just melted off and there is a lot of
standing water. Also the geese love this island, do I need to say
more?

Dusk will be the end to a great day!

Considering the success of the first
Detroit Meet and Greet on a wet cold winter’s day, it seemed
natural to set the second one on a gorgeous spring day. We got very
lucky last year with the weather. Hopefully we will have a sunny
spring day again.

Belle Isle is truly one of Detroit’s gems.
Spring is a great time to cache the island, less muggles, cooler
temps.

For those that have not been to the island you are in for a treat.
There are caches placed in many interesting areas of the island.
There is also a lot of history that can be discovered here.
Currently there are 30 caches on the island. There are plans to
place new permanent caches on the island. The goal is to put in
about 20 new caches that will be released at the
event.

If you have not cached the island you will
want to be sure to do the old caches first. After the event 28 of
the 30 old caches will be archived. The 20 or so new caches will
remain in place for the following year.

Also be sure to visit Start Your Engines
cache. This cache is currently the 21st oldest active cache in
Michigan!

Bring your Tb’s and coins for
exchange.

Last year we had quite a hit when we raffled off the FTF’s on the
new caches placed. So instead of a prize table we will once again
raffle off the FTF’s. Then with a half hour head start your can go
hunt the cache before it is released to the other cachers
present.

Should be great fun! See you
there!
