Watch the site!
Please set a watch on the event site. This will make it easier for
us to send updates if necessary. To do this click on watch listing
in the menu on the right.
Saturday night
For those people staying in Toowoomba for the weekend who would
like the opportunity to catch up before the event (to swap some
hints maybe?), we have booked a table at the City Golf Club Bistro,
254 South St, South Toowoomba, on Saturday, February 14, from 7pm.
We will need numbers by this Tuesday night (Feb 10) to confirm the
booking – please send us a message if you would like to come along,
and let us know how many people you are bringing.
The event
There are no public BBQs at the event site. BYO if required.
Accommodation
The Tourist Information Office (close to the cache Info@T), 86
James St, phone 4639 3797, can help with information on
accommodation options.
Information we need from you
Paul (Bolt Es) is producing name stickers/tags for all attendees.
To assist him, could you please send us the following information
via email or PM:
- First names of all cachers who are attending, and their cacher
name(s)
- Where you are from (eg, Brisbane (+suburb), Bundaberg,
Toowoomba)
- How many caches you have found and hidden
There will be plenty of new cachers who have not met others before,
and this info will make it easier for everyone to start a
conversation.
Looking forward to seeing you in the Garden City next weekend!
Paul (Bolt Es), Kelly (Team Beaufort) and Birgit (lochb)

end of update
We will organise a short (approx 1h) geohunt in town, followed by
BYO lunch, and a geocaching educational session targeting new
cachers/hiders. This should leave some time to search for other
local caches.
Arrive at coordinates:
between 10am-12pm to pick up information for the geohunt. The cache
we place as part of this event will be published afterwards.
Return to coordinates: from
1pm, for lunch and newbie session.
What to bring: food and
drink for yourself for lunch, chair, table/blanket. GPSr might come
in handy.
The location: Queens Park,
close to where the last Toowoomba event was held. Toilets about
150m away. Car parking very close.
Also: To help us with the
organization of the newbie session, could you please comment in
your attendance/note log what issues you would like addressed, e.g.
good/bad locations for a hide, containers, hints etc. If you are
interested in paperless caching, or which hardware/software to use,
mention this as well. We are trying to start a series of
presentations to be continued at future events, targeting new &
old geocachers keen to place quality caches. Yes, oldies are also
welcome!
This information will be updated as the event gets closer. You
