Geocache Description:

You are looking for a 35mm film canister hidden very close to Horseshoe falls on the river Dee. The cache contains part of the coordinates to the final cache in this series which is on the Horseshoe Pass.

Quarry view - GC1K8NH

Free car parking is available for this cache with toilets and picnic benches within the car park. The coordinates for this are included below.

Walk down the car park and turn right when you reach the road. Follow this and you come to a set of steps on your left, that will take you over the canal to the back of the Chianbridge hotel. From here follow the canal along.

Once you have found the cache you can make this into a circular walk by going through the the kissing gate by the church, and turning right along the road, back to the car park. Take car with children and dogs.

The Horseshoe Falls is an artificially created waterfall on the River Dee near Llantysilio Hall in Denbighshire, Wales, approximately three miles west of the town of Llangollen.

The distinctively shaped weir helps create a pool of water that can enter (via an adjacent valve house and flow meter) the Llangollen Canal, which begins here, and was originally designed and constructed in 1808 by civil engineer Thomas Telford. It is 460 feet long.
