Geocache Description:

We all know that pets normally become part of the family. That is why it is always hard when they pass away. This cache is dedicated to the pets that have left our lives. In the recent months we have lost wonderful pets. Both who died too soon. Tigger, our cat, who died at only three, and our dog, Max, died the day after Christmas at only six. Inside are some pictures of Max and Tigger and some toys that we got for Max for Christmas. Feel free to leave pictures of your passed away pets in the cache. Also, post a photo of them in your log with a little bit about them, and I will put them on the page with Max and Tigger.

Max
2002-2008
Max loved to play “keep away”. He would never fetch, but he loved to run around in the yard with his toys keeping them away from us. We took him caching occasionally, such as up to Shiloh Park back in November. He unexpectedly got sick on Christmas Eve 2008. He was diagnosed with Leukemia, and died two days later.

Tigger
2005-2008
Tigger died in late October. He was a funny little cat. He loved to sleep next to my sister in her room. You could always count on him to go crazy whenever we got out the cat nip.

Shasta
1995-2008
We left a picture of Shasta, whom we lost this year after 13-14 years of being my best friend. Shasta is in heaven waiting for us; in the meantime I would not be surprised if she is looking Max up to say hello.

Maggie
1993-2008
this is the year we lost our cat Maggie to old age (15 years old) Beautiful little thing that she was...she still always had a slight look of disdain for the the humans around her (hey, she was a cat after all!). Anyway, we always knew it was just a show for her feline friends and that she really did love us.

Max
1995-2007
Max left us last year at 13 years old, a beautiful Mainecoon who we used to tease about being dumber than a box of rocks.

Twister
16 January 2004
I lost my wonderful soul mate - my precious silvergray tiger tabby, TWISTER, almost exactly five years ago to the day. (1/16/04). I miss him over and over and over again. Never had a pet I got so close to.
-WebMistress

Herman, Arthur and Daisy
They were the best of friends.

-Granny in Red

Daisy
She was always so humiliated when I dressed her like a human.

Polar
1995-2009
One month ago today, I had to say goodbye to my dear, old sweet boy "Polar," short for "Polar Bear." Polar, a Yellow Lab, earned his name from his extremely light-colored coat - he looked like a little polar bear as a pup! Polar has always been at my side and helped me through some very tragic and difficult times, especially over the last several years. Unfortunately, his health took a turn for the worse last year but he remained happy and stoic throughout. We made him as comfortable as we could as his health declined with medication, water therapy, harness support, and even acupuncture (such the Marin dog!). He remained sweet and endearing until the end, never getting grumpy despite all of his health issues. His disposition was simply the best. He was such a good boy and I was very proud of him. I will miss him dearly.

Bellessima
1986-30 October 2008
I lost my beloved Bellessima 2 months before you made this cache. Words cannot describe what she meant to me, and those who know me, know she will always be with me. She never got to cache, but she loved to trail ride.
-Appaloosa Gal

Bugs
The sweetest cat I've ever had! She was the best mother to her only brood, running herself ragged but always there for the little ones. One day, after having wasted away to skin and bones, she decided it was time to go off and lie down one last time. Funny how some animals affect you so much.
