REVENGE OF THE TOAD



WARNING: THIS CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE LISTED COORDINATES!

The Toad is not happy. He now wants to try and get some revenge. I told him that geocachers were smarter than him and would be able to defeat him once again, but he is determined to try. He hid a cache then listed it with bogus coordinates. He said if you want it you will have to work for it and solve another code using the Toadz font and decypher wheel.

To find this cache you must first decipher the code.

I hope just finding this one will also be somewhat of a
reward for your work and being able to say “I found it”.

To solve this secret message you need to make you a decipher wheel. You can visit here to learn HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN CIPHER WHEEL.


 I have included image files of the two parts of the cypher wheel and a brief description below on how to use it in case you have any problems with the links.

I have used a Vigenere Cypher and the symbols found on the Cipher Wheel. For this kind of code you move the Toad’s branch after each letter/symbol. A key word is used to determine how the branch is moved. Suppose you wanted to decrypt the message above using the Vigenere Cypher:

Here is an EXAMPLE secret message using the symbols:





The first step is to find the key word. For this EXAMPLE let's say the keyword is FROG. Write the key word FROG repeatedly above the message like so:




Next, align the Toad's branch with the letter F which is the letter in the key word above the first symbol in the message. The symbol lines up with the letter G in the outer ring. Align the Toad’s branch with the letter R. The second symbol lines up with the letter O on the outer ring. Align the Toad’s branch with the letter O. The third symbol lines up with the letter S on the outer ring. Move the Toad’s branch to the letter G. The fourth symbol lines up with the letter I on the outer ring. Continue this until you have deciphered the entire message. The secret message for the EXAMPLE is:


GO SIX HUNDRED AND TWENTY
NINE FEET AT TEN DEGREES TRUE


Okay, I have given you the secret message (I recommend printing it off), links to make a decipher wheel, and links on how to use the decipher wheel. Now all you need to do is figure out the keyword then use the decipher wheel to cypher the secret message.
