Geocache Description:

Old town Dungeness

In 1890, when the channel around the spit into the bay began to fill in with sand/sediment, New Dungeness merchants purchased land on the east side of the Dungeness river and moved their buildings and businesses one mile to the east. Woodland Avenue (now called Sequim Dungeness Way) became the main street of the new town.
