Geocache Description:

Be ready... there's no warning WHEN BEAVERS ATTACK!

It really is tragic. So few people understand the cunning nature of Castor Canadensis, more commonly known as the beaver. These wary predators lurk in the underbrush near the bodies of water they call home. All too often, hikers and boaters are fooled by the seemingly innocuous swimming about and industrious dam building of these terrors of the wetlands. Lulled into a false sense of security, these unfortunates relax their vigilance. It is at these times WHEN BEAVERS ATTACK!
But anyway, this cache should amuse as well as provide cachers with another FOUND IT. You're heading out on a spit of land that's known locally as Potty Point. This stems from the long ago abandoned and demolished set of genuine flush toilets built by our friends from the DNR/Army Corp of Engineers. Having built this deluxe facility at who-knows-what expense it dawned on them that this point is underwater about three months out of the year... so they tore it all down. (Remember, these are the same folks that condemned and tore down the entire town of Elkinsville at the far end of the lake since it would be flooded... and then the "flood" never got up that high... OOPS! Sorry everyone!) Have no fear for the lurking beaver, though. He'll be safe and dry, patiently waiting for the next time... WHEN BEAVERS ATTACK!

Hmmm... In reviewing the pictures in the gallery I noticed that on the tree in the picture "Gnarly" you can see the high water mark on the trunk. BE SURE TO SEAL UP THE CONTAINER WELL!

(In all fairness I should note that DNR didn't make the calls on building the toilets or tearing them down. They didn't make the call on that Elkinsville thing, either. They manage all this for the Corp of Engineers. Now THOSE guys...)
