Oskarströms kyrka

1891 användes Jutefabrikens matsal som gudstjänst lokal. Kantor i matsalen var Överlärare Rydberg. 1901 började kyrkoherden Friedlander arbeta för att Oskarström skulle få en egen kyrka. Arkitekten Otar Hökerberg fick uppdraget att designa kyrkan och den byggdes upp mellan åren 1916 och 1917 på den så kallade Vargbacken. 1918 invigdes kyrkan. 1921 fick kyrkan sina kyrkklockor. De skapades efter kyrkan uppförandes, det på grund av att det var tennbrist i Sverige efter första världskriget.

Kyrkan är en korskyrka i jugendstil (en stilform där man använder sig av inspiration från naturen t.ex. ornament med motiv av blommor och växter). Byggnadsmaterialet är tegel från Slottsmöllans tegelbruk. Kyrkans tak och kyrktorn är klädda med koppar. Kyrkans har även ett tornur som åt norr, syd, öst och väst visar tiden.

1891 the Jutefactories canteen as the divine service place. The cantor in the canteen was schoolmaster Rydberg. 1901 the vicar Friedlander started to work for Oskarström getting its own church. The Architect Otar Hökerberg got the assignment to design the church and it was built between the years of 1916 to 1917 on the so called Vargbacken (directly translated: The Wolfhill). 1918 the church was inaugurated. 1921 the church got its churchbells. They were created after the church was built, this was due to that it was a shortage of tin in Sweden after the first world war.

The church is a cruciform church in Liberty style (a style where one uses inspiration from nature, for example ornaments with flowers and plants). The building material is bricks from Slottsmöllans tegelbruk (brickworks). The church roof is and church tower clad with copper. The church also has a tower-clock which has to the North, the South, the East and the West shows the time.
