Geocache Description:

A great spot for fly fishing or to launch your boat

This canal is part of the Tongariro Power scheme. An easy detour off the main highway. You will drive past a small power station along the canal which is the outflow from the nearby Lake Otamangakau

Drive to the end and you will see a sizeable boat ramp which is popular for the local fisherfolk.

The cache is a one litre systema inside a TK camo coat. Be careful when getting close to GZ as it is rabbit city with concealed holes that could trap the unwary.
